RESEARCH

The Queensland Heart Institute’s research funding aims to collaborate with international key opinion leaders, for the presentation of clinical data at international meetings in international meetings; stipend support for emerging Cardiology leaders in the field to train at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital (SAWMH) and research relating to trials of procedures where new devices are utilised to improve patient outcomes in interventional structural heart procedures.

ONGOING MEDICAL EDUCATION

The Founders of Queensland Heart Institute will support ongoing medical education through GP education meetings, conference presentations, and GP directed online education videos as well as closed group physician Q&A meeting and specialists awareness meetings.

FUNDRAISING FOR CARDIAC RESEARCH

Our goal is to bring together generous benefactors and medical industry partners to work alongside to increase the for vital cardiac research. Many hospitals administrations already provide generous support for clinicians and patients. We aim to bring all groups together to achieve a common purpose, that is a true collaboration. Through this alternative funding model, patients may have access to new therapies or treatments currently not available within the medical system in Australia, increasing access to these new therapies and improving patient outcomes.

Raising general public and patient awareness will require significant financial input far exceeding the already generous input from hospital administration; hence funding from industry partners and benefactors will be needed.
